Yorgos Avgeropoulos presents his new documentary film at TRIANON cinema

AGORA - Poster
The new documentary film by Yorgos Avgeropoulos, “THOSE WHO SURVIVED - Stories of Dignity”, will have its premiere on Sunday, December 11, at 19:00, at TRIANON cinema, at an event co-organized by the Greek Council for Refugees and the BABEL Day Center.

“THOSE WHO SURVIVED – Stories of Dignity” is a short documentary film that sheds light to an almost unknown aspect of the refugee crisis.

Many of the thousands forced to follow the pathways of migration, are victims of torture. They are amongst the most vulnerable of vulnerable, tortured in their country in the most savage and unspeakable manner. They succeeded in fleeing from their persecutors, and risking everything, placed their lives in danger, yet again, to seek protection at the gates of fortress Europe. Murat, Jean and Ali, now rendered invisible in the crowds of the Greek capital, face a new adventure: to convince the authorities of their story with the sole proof of their word and body, to set up a new life from scratch, and most importantly, to heal their wounds.

The screening of “THOSE WHO SURVIVED – Stories of Dignity” will be followed by an open discussion on the challenges faced by the refugees-victims of torture with the participation of film director Yorgos Avgeropoulos, Renos Papadopoulos, member of the Centre for Trauma, Asylum and Refugees of the Essex University, and representatives of the Greek Council for Refugees and the BABEL Day Center.

Admission to the event is free.
